Purpose
The primary purpose of INFATI is to develop and
test Intelligent Speed Adaptation systems which can contribute to a sustainable
transportation system with special focus on road safety.
The secondary purposes of the project is:
-
to develop the knowledge base on traffic
information at Aalborg University.
-
to transfer this knowledge to North
Jutland's business community.
At Aalborg University the knowledge will also
be used in the education of engineers.
When the project is finished, prototypes for hardware and software for
Intelligent Speed Adaptation will have been developed. These prototypes will
have been developed to an extent where it is possible to determine the users
reactions and attitudes to the system. It will also be possible to evaluate the
functionality of the system in relation to road safety, usability, validity,
user's willingness to buy ect.
If the results of the project all together seem to be positive, Aalborg
University might start planning and implementing a large scale project where
many users will test systems with Intelligent Speed Adaptation.
