Road Safety
Each year 500 persons are killed and 10.000 persons are injured in road accidents in Denmark. This is unacceptable. One of the major causes of these accidents is to high speed.

To high speed has an impact on the number accidents as well as the outcome of the accidents. A number of studies show that speed is a crucial factor in about half of all the accidents. The illustration to the right shows that it makes a significant difference whether a pedestrian is hit by a car which runs 30 or 50 km/h. If a pedestrian is hit by car which runs 50 km/h, it can be compared with falling from the 3th floor of a building. In this case, there is only a 10 per cent chance for survival.

If a pedestrian is hit by car which runs 30 km/h, it can be compared with falling from the 1th floor of a building. In this case, there is a 90 per cent chance for survival.
